Research and Exchange Visit to École Nationale Supérieure d'Ingénieurs en Technologies Industrielles de Pau, France by the International Elite Engineering School
2026-01-22

From January 12 to 13, 2026, at the invitation of École Nationale Supérieure d’Ingénieurs en Technologies Industrielles de Pau (ENSGTI) in France, a delegation of three from the International Elite Engineering School, consisting of Vice Deans Xing Mingyang, Jia Daqing, and Zhou Wenjia, visited ENSGTI in Pau, France. The purpose of the visit was to conduct research and exchange on matters including the preparation of CTI (Commission des Titres d'Ingénieur) accreditation materials, the on-site CTI accreditation process, and the revision of postgraduate training programs.

On January 12, the delegation held talks with Jean-Michel Reneaume, President of ENSGTI, and Jacques Mercadier, Vice President of the FGL Alliance and French Dean of the International Elite Engineering School. President Reneaume provided a detailed introduction to ENSGTI's educational profile and distinctive features, and engaged in constructive discussions on potential future collaborative projects between the two institutions. Vice Dean Xing Mingyang then held in-depth discussions with Dean Mercadier on topics including the reform of postgraduate curricula at the International Elite Engineering School, measures to support postgraduate French language proficiency examinations, and collaboration and exchanges between Chinese and French faculty. They also reached a consensus on the duration of student exchange programs between the two sides.

On January 13, the delegation held a thematic meeting on international affairs with José Lara Cruz, Director of the International Affairs Office of ENSGTI, and Dean Mercadier, delving into collaborative matters such as faculty and student exchanges and joint workshops. Subsequently, through a hybrid format, the delegation engaged in a thematic exchange on CTI accreditation experience with Audrey Soric, President of the École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Rennes, and Dean Mercadier. President Soric shared valuable experience and insights.

That same afternoon, the delegation exchanged views with Sylvain Serra, Head of the Student Affairs Office at ENSGTI, and Dean Mercadier on the preparation of CTI accreditation materials and the student affairs framework. They systematically examined the interrelationship between postgraduate curriculum design and the development of practical competencies in the French system, and gained an in-depth understanding of its distinctive training model in the field of industrial technology.

Vice Dean Xing Mingyang met with Lu Dawei, a postgraduate student currently studying at ENSGTI. He kindly inquired about Lu’s study and life experiences in France, encouraged him to strive for excellence, and invited him to return to the school for exchanges as an alumnus in the future.

This visit, through a series of well-focused and substantial meetings and inspections, resulted in multiple consensuses regarding advancing the preparation for CTI accreditation, strengthening Sino-French collaborative education exchanges, and deepening the reform of postgraduate training programs. It has injected fresh momentum into the International Elite Engineering School of East China University of Science and Technology for further enhancing its educational standards and internationalization.
