The International Excellence Engineer School was jointly established by East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) and École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Rennes (ENSCR), under the framework of the Fédération Gay-Lussac (FGL). The School offers four undergraduate programs: Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Technology, Polymer Materials and Engineering, and Environmental Engineering.

The School implements an integrated bachelor's-master's educational model that combines the French "Classes Préparatoires - Ingénieur" system with China's "Bachelor's - Master's" system. Students complete common public courses in Semesters 1-5 and begin specialized professional courses in Semester 6. Students who go to French engineering schools in their fourth year will follow the first-year curriculum of the engineering phase (equivalent to Master's level) of the host French institution, while simultaneously completing their undergraduate thesis (or graduation project).

This program adopts a combined domestic and international training approach. It fully introduces the French preparatory curriculum system, integrates the professional strengths of ECUST, and implements instruction in Chinese, English, and French. The program emphasizes the cultivation of engineering fundamentals, mathematical and logical reasoning, and innovative practical abilities. It aims to broaden students' international perspectives and enhance their capabilities for multidisciplinary and cross-cultural communication, ultimately training high-level engineering talents in specialized fields suited to the context of economic globalization.
