In 2019, the International Excellence Engineer School of East China University of Science and Technology was officially established. It is a Sino-foreign cooperative education institution set up by ECUST in partnership with École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Rennes (ENSCR) and other institutions of the Fédération Gay-Lussac (FGL). As a key member of the FGL, ENSCR, acting as a representative school of the alliance, will coordinate teaching resources, international exchanges, and internships with French companies, providing students with comprehensive elite educational resources.
Following the French "Formation d'Ingénieur" model for excellence, the Chinese and French partners have established four core teaching modules focusing on bilingual proficiency, humanistic values, foundational knowledge in mathematics and science, and professional expertise. The curriculum covers knowledge in Applied Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Polymer Materials, and Chemical Engineering & Technology. Elite faculty from France deliver courses in China, undertaking over one-third of the total teaching load.
