On June 28,the high-level academic lecture"Iris Appointment"hosted by theInternational Elite Engineering School was successfully held on the third floor of the laboratory building.Academician of the Royal Academy of Sciences of Belgium,Academician of the European Academy of Sciences,and lifetime professor of the University of Namur(Université de Namur)Su Baolian attended the event and delivered an academic report titled"Pore Science and Engineering for Creating New-Type Productivity for Low-Carbon and High-Quality Development."The report session was presided over by Vice President of our university,Academician Zhu Weihong.More than a hundred teachers and students from the International College of Excellent Engineers and the School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering listened to the report.

Professor Su Baolian discussed the development trend of materials science under the background of"new-type productivity"and emphasized the significance of pore science and engineering as an emerging interdisciplinary subject.He pointed out that porous materials have a wide range of application prospects in the fields of energy,environment,catalysis,etc.,and are the key support for achieving the"dual-carbon"goals and efficient resource utilization.

During the interactive session,the atmosphere was lively,and teachers and students actively asked questions.They consulted Professor Su Baolian on issues such as the diffusion rate bottleneck in catalytic processes,the spatial arrangement mechanism of multi-level porous structures,and the feasibility and technological challenges of constructing multi-level porous materials with a combination of various materials.This lecture not only broadened the participants'understanding of the cutting-edge intersections of porous materials and low-carbon development but also highlighted the continuous exploration of the International College of Excellent Engineers in promoting basic theoretical research on new-type productivity and cultivating high-end engineering talents.
