On the evening of January 16,the"Iris Appointment-Face-to-Face with Academician"event of the International Elite Engineering School was held in Room 817 of the library on the Fengxian campus.The event invited Academician Zhu Weihong of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Vice President of East China University of Science and Technology to communicate with more than 40 students from the International Elite Engineering School and the base class of the School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering.The event was hosted by Vice Dean Wang Li of the International Elite Engineering School .

Academician Zhu Weihong first expressed his appreciation to the students participating in the event and emphasized that in the colorful university life,everyone must persist in working hard and strengthening their professional studies.He pointed out that in addition to academic performance,it is equally important to cultivate the ability to solve practical problems.Students should consciously enhance their capabilities to meet future challenges.

Subsequently,Academician Zhu conducted an in-depth exploration of the cutting-edge development of photo-sensitive product molecular engineering and shared several vivid"photochemistry"stories.He demonstrated to the students the significant role of chemistry as an important part of basic research and core science,broadening the horizons of the students present and further stimulating their enthusiasm for learning.He called on students to"focus on source innovation"and emphasized the importance of cultivating an innovative consciousness in order to strive to become outstanding chemical professionals.

At the end of the event,the students actively participated in the discussion,asked questions enthusiastically,and had a lively interactive exchange with Academician Zhu on topics such as how to judge the academic ability of doctoral students,the impact of artificial intelligence on the chemical industry,and the ideas for improving photochemical molecules.Academician Zhu listened patiently and provided detailed answers,offering valuable learning advice to the students and further stimulating their strong interest in professional research.
