On March 4,2025,the International Elite Engineering School held a class tutor meeting,which was presided over by Vice Dean Huang Guantuan.Vice Dean Wang Li,class tutors from various grades,the person in charge of teaching affairs,counselors,and other relevant personnel attended the meeting.The meeting focused on the construction of academic ethos in the college and the key work plan for this semester.
Huang Guantuan first reviewed the basic situation of undergraduate students in various grades in the academic year of 2023.He analyzed the failure rates of each class in the past three semesters and the overall failure rate of the college in the 241 semester.He also shared the optimization measures the college had taken in terms of academic ethos tracking and feedback as well as teaching management in the recent semesters.He urged class tutors to firmly grasp the construction of academic ethos in their classes,to combine the characteristics of students,and to use a variety of means to stimulate students'initiative.He encouraged students to be independent and strong,to lead their classes to move forward together,and to ensure that no student is left behind.
Wang Li shared the plan of the counselor team to enhance academic ethos.She organized Party and League membership candidates and class group leaders to pair up with students who have learning difficulties to provide help.She arranged for students who need special attention to participate in the office duty of the college and improved the conversation tracking system and leave-application system for students with learning difficulties.She also introduced to everyone the themed class meetings that each grade planned to hold this semester,and made detailed arrangements in aspects such as social practice,academic planning,career development,pre-departure education for studying abroad,and pre-graduation education.In addition,she encouraged class tutors to actively organize the"Enterprise+"lectures every month to help students understand the culture of engineers,enhance their academic confidence,and clarify their future plans.
In the subsequent open discussion session,class tutors from various grades actively shared their thoughts based on their work experience and insights from talking with students.They had in-depth exchanges on common problems students face,such as study methods and interests,the intensity of French study,and classes during practice weeks.They also offered constructive suggestions on the college's teaching management and student affairs.They expressed that they would continue to play an important role in the construction of academic ethos,combine the college's educational features,and do a solid job in student cultivation.They aim to create a good learning atmosphere and broad space for the all-round development of students,serve the school's talent-cultivation goals,and at the same time,pay attention to students'mental health and career planning,providing more support and help for students.
