Vice-Chancellor Dai Caili of China University of Petrole​um (East China) and her delegation visit our school

On 25 March, Vice-Chancellor Dai Caili of China University of Petroleum (East China) and her delegation paid a visit to the  International Elite Engineering School at East China University of Science and Technology. Li Tao, Vice-Chancellor of East China University of Science and Technology, attended the symposium, alongside the Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, heads of relevant departments including the Academic Affairs Office and the Graduate School, and Xing Mingyang, Deputy Dean of the International Elite Engineering School.

At the symposium, Vice-Chancellor Li Tao, on behalf of the university, extended a warm welcome to Vice-Chancellor Dai Caili and her delegation, and briefly outlined the overall framework and development vision for internationalisation at East China University of Science and Technology. Xing Mingyang, Deputy Dean of the International Elite Engineering School, chaired the symposium and delivered a comprehensive report covering the school's innovative educational model, the development of its talent cultivation system, CTI international engineering education accreditation, in-depth practice of industry-education integration, and distinctive features of its internationalised education. He systematically showcased the school's achievements and practical experience in the field of Sino-French cooperative education.

Vice-Chancellor Dai Caili spoke highly of the achievements of the International Elite Engineering School at East China University of Science and Technology, and introduced the disciplinary development and internationalisation efforts at China University of Petroleum (East China). She noted that the International Elite Engineering School possesses a deep foundation and distinctive characteristics in the field of Sino-foreign cooperative education, having developed valuable experience that is both replicable and scalable. The purpose of this study visit was to thoroughly study and draw upon advanced educational philosophies and management models, with a view to enhancing the quality and efficiency of the university's international talent cultivation efforts and achieving quality-driven development.

During the discussion session, both parties engaged in in-depth dialogue on core topics such as the optimisation of Sino-foreign cooperative education models, the construction of internationalised curriculum systems, and the establishment of collaborative platforms for industry-education integration. Drawing on their respective practical experiences, representatives from both universities shared insights and reflections on engineering education reform, cross-cultural talent development, and the integration of corporate resources. They reached a high degree of consensus in numerous key areas, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation.

This research and exchange visit was both practical and in-depth, yielding fruitful results. Both parties agreed to take this exchange as a new starting point, fully leveraging their respective disciplinary strengths and resource endowments to jointly explore innovative pathways for cultivating outstanding engineering talent in the new era across fields such as talent development, the co-construction of internationalised curricula, and faculty exchanges. They pledged to contribute their wisdom and strength to serving national strategic needs and promoting the high-quality development of higher education.
