On the afternoon of 13 May, the lecture “International Forum for Elite Talents in Innovation: Higher Education and Engineering Education in France”, organised by the International Elite Engineering School, was successfully held in Conference Room 219 of Lizhi Hall. The lecture invited Professor Juan Xie and Dr Ning Yu as guest speakers and attracted a large number of students interested in pursuing further studies in France.
Professor Juan Xie began by providing an in-depth analysis of the key differences between the higher education systems of China and France. She then introduced application channels and academic progression pathways within French universities and research institutions, mapping out a clear road for students aiming to pursue doctoral degrees in France.
In the subsequent career development segment, Dr. Ning Yu emphasized that alumni networks serve as vital platforms for securing internal referrals and facilitating information exchange. He noted that proactive planning and prioritizing the development of these networks would yield significant long-term benefits for both the school and its students.
During the concluding Q&A session, in response to students’ concerns regarding the entirely French-taught environment and the unfamiliar curriculum, the two speakers provided patient answers based on their own experiences. They agreed that immersing oneself in the language environment is the fastest way to improve one’s language skills, and encouraged everyone not to worry about language barriers but to embrace the challenge with courage.

The lecture was characterized by a vibrant atmosphere and frequent interaction. This exchange not only alleviated students’ concerns about studying in France, but also provided clarity on their academic and career planning, earning high praise from the students.
