Academic degree subcommittee meeting of the International Elite Engineering School successfully held on June 8, 2026, in Conference Room 219 of Lizhi Apartments. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Weihong Zhu, Chair of the Subcommittee, and attended by committee members Xuedong Zhu, Qixin Zhuang, Zhen Song, and Yanjie Hu. Vice Dean Mingyang Xing attended the meeting as an observer and participated in the discussions.
At the meeting, all committee members listened to a report by Daqing Jia on the eligibility review of this group of master’s degree candidates. To ensure the quality of degree conferral, the committee members, upholding a rigorous and fact-based approach, carefully reviewed and rigorously evaluated the materials, including theses, review comments, defense performance, and research achievements of the 17 master’s students from the school one by one. During the deliberations, the committee members engaged in in-depth and thorough discussions regarding the academic rigor, practical engineering value, and innovative aspects of the students’ theses. They unanimously agreed that, through the engineering education system at the Chimie Shanghai, the students have acquired the ability to independently conduct engineering research and solve real-world engineering problems.
Based on an assessment of the applicants’ educational backgrounds and academic standards, the committee conducted a vote by secret ballot in strict accordance with East China University of Science and Technology’s standards for the conferral of master’s degrees. The results showed unanimous approval, and it was agreed to award professional master’s degrees to 17 students, including Yiqi Lv and Wenbo Lu.
The results of this conference demonstrate that students have received systematic, high-quality engineering education and research training under the French engineering education model, with significant improvements in their engineering thinking and practical skills. This fully confirms that the Sino-French joint training program is functioning effectively and has yielded remarkable results.
